Frequently Asked Questions

Privacy & Location Data

No. Your exact catch locations are private and only visible to you.

Location data in FishComp is used for:

  • Personal Records - Track where you've caught fish for your own reference
  • Competition Boundaries - Verify that catches are within competition zones (if applicable)
  • Weather & Conditions - Provide relevant weather and tide information
What others can see:
  • Your catch photo (if you share it)

What remains private:

Competition organizers can only verify that your catch was made within the competition's defined boundaries. They cannot see your exact fishing spot or GPS coordinates.

Location data is stored securely on our servers and is only associated with your account. We do not sell, share, or provide your location data to third parties.
